Bio

Mark GoochEven when I was very young, my father always included me in conversations. Introduced me. Let me shake hands like a grown-up. Teaching me to be comfortable with people was probably his greatest gift to me. Not only has it made life more enjoyable, but it’s been vital in my work as a photographer. Because to capture life on film, you have to meet people where they are. Earn people’s trust, and you’ll catch a glimpse of what they’re really like. No pretenses. You can create a situation or mood anytime, any place. But to capture a moment that tells the story of real people, in real places, in real life … that, to me, is priceless.

Mark Gooch photographs people for advertising agencies, magazines and design firms throughout the U.S., creating work that reflects the respect he has for each subject. Gooch works hard to achieve the fresh, informal images he's known for.
